Dogmatic Opinion
Japanese can describe excessive oiliness with ABURAGIRU—literally, to become oily or greasy. GITTO-RI belongs strongly to that world of oil and fat.
The amount is excessive enough to make you grimace. This is not an appetizing gloss or pleasant richness; the oiliness itself is the problem.
For me, that unpleasant excess is essential to the word.
