Dogmatic Opinion
A tiny thorn is not enough to give me the feeling of GUSSA-RI.
I picture something knife-like driven in so deeply that much of the blade has disappeared into the target—and, in my mental image, it remains stuck there rather than immediately coming back out.
The same image works metaphorically. Cruel or shocking words become a knife that penetrates deeply and stays lodged in your feelings.
