Dogmatic Opinion
KIPPA-RI overlaps with HAKKI-RI in the sense of being clear, but its image is much stronger than simple clarity.
It suggests complete refusal, rejection, denial, severance, or cutting something off—stronger than merely resisting. The intention is firm enough that nobody should be able to misunderstand it, and there is a sense of drawing a line that the other side is not allowed to cross.
That is why KIPPA-RI is particularly natural with refusing, rejecting, quitting, breaking off a relationship, or otherwise ending something decisively.
