Dogmatic Opinion
I suspect sense 2—the idea of laying things tightly across a surface—is about the only context in which I would personally use PISSHI-RI today.
Apparently there are even enthusiasts online for “PISSHI-RI jeans,” meaning jeans that fit tightly enough to reveal the body line.
The word gives me a feeling of surfaces or edges being firmly brought together and held without gaps.
