Dogmatic Opinion
GUCCHO-RI feels almost the same as GUSSHO-RI. If I force myself to distinguish them, the difference comes from the physical and sound impressions of GUCHO-GUCHO versus GUSHO-GUSHO.
The clearest image I have for GUCCHO-RI is a waterlogged shoe: there is enough water trapped inside that your foot makes wet squelching sounds as you move. Even after putting the shoes out in the sun, they feel as though they would take two or three days to dry.
GUSSHO-RI, by contrast, feels thoroughly wet but without actual water pooling inside or much squelching. On a sunny day, perhaps it would dry within a day.
This is a very fine, subjective distinction, but that difference in imagined wetness is what the sounds suggest to me.

Soaked, sopping wet, waterlogged, or soaking wet may fit. For shoes, waterlogged or completely soaked can be especially natural. The distinction from GUSSHO-RI is subtle and usually cannot be preserved with a single English word.
