Dogmatic Opinion
CHOKKO-RI has a particularly strong connection in my mind with the verb “sit.”
I picture someone sitting alone with nobody nearby, perhaps looking a little tense and making themselves small.
The word can apparently also mean “a little,” like CHOKOTTO, but quantity is not the main image for me. I picture a single small point placed in an otherwise sparse or empty area.
That visual isolation is what gives CHOKKO-RI its charm.

Perched, sitting there by oneself, sitting neatly, or a lone little… may work depending on context. A little is possible in some uses, but the distinctive image here is not simply small quantity: it is one small presence standing out in an otherwise empty space.
