PAKKU-RI ぱっくり
Meanings
① To open one’s mouth as wide as one can. Also, to eat in such a way.
② The appearance of a crack or wound or seam that breaks open and widens.
Examples
① I swallowed a large loaf of bread with my big mouth.
大きなパンを、ぱっくり一口で飲み込んでしまった。

ボクシングの試合で、目尻の古傷がぱっくりと開いてしまった。
Dogmatic Opinion
In one sense, the state in which the mouth is open and wide is “Pakkuri”. It is probably used for cracks and wounds in a transitive sense.
In addition to the simple cracks and widening of the openings, the original one is cracked or torn, and there is hope that it can be restored (closed) to its original state again somehow.
Proximate Expression
split wide open
