110 BITTORI びっとり ⭐️

BITTO-RI  びっとり

Meanings

Dirt clinging uncomfortably to the surface.

Examples

・The engine oil on my bike is caked in it and won’t come off.

バイクのエンジンオイルがびっとりこびりついてなかなか落ちない。

・I almost fainted when I saw two leeches sticking to my legs.

足にヒルが二匹、びっとり張りついているのを見て気絶しそうになった。

Dogmatic Opinion

It is a wonder that “Bettari” is called “BetaBeta” and “Bettori” is called “BetoBeto” but not “BitoBito”.

Both “Bettari” and “Bettori” and “Bitter” evoke a stickiness that does not easily leave.

If I had to say, I’d admit that “Bettari” and “Bettori” are objectively sticky.

I feel that “Bittori” is heavily weighted toward subjective discomfort.

Or it may be stickiness without repetitive motion, unlike BetaBeta, BetoBeto.

You wouldn’t stick leeches together, let them go, stick them together, would you?

Proximate Expression

sticky
